ENP Symposium on Consciousness

Floris de Lange and Heleen Slagter have jointly organized a ENP symposium entitled "Imaging consciousness: beyond the neural correlates of consciousness (NCC)".
While consciousness is fundamental to human cognition, we are only beginning to understand its psychological and neurobiological determinants. Ever since Crick and Koch put the topic of consciousness firmly on the neuroscientific agenda in the 1990s, tremendous efforts have been made to define the neural correlates of consciousness (NCC). The field has now moved beyond characterizing the NCC and it is timely to take stock of the advances at this exciting moment.
Speakers on this symposium are Hakwan Lau (Columbia University, New York), Brad Wyble (Syracuse University, New York), Simon van Gaal (Neurospin, Paris) and Anouk van Loon (University of Amsterdam).
